Emanating from the Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park monorail systems, the California High-Speed Monorail goes to a station near San Diego’s Lindberg Field International Airport before continuing 90 miles north to enter the I-5 Freeway median just south of the ARTIC monorail station complex, about fifty miles out of Los Angeles. This same route and guide way system would, in daily use, serve significantly greater numbers of commuters and recreational passengers, on several times as many rush hour and weekend departures and arrivals as intercity high-speed service would likely provide.
